Sophia Fugere joined ATCO three years ago after a career in environmental science and has quickly become one of our most valued technicians. Her combination of scientific background and genuine care for customers makes her stand out.
An Environmental Science Foundation
“I studied environmental science because I care about the balance between people and the natural world,” Sophia explains. “Pest control seemed like an odd fit at first, but the more I learned about IPM — Integrated Pest Management — the more I understood that good pest control is actually about protecting that balance.”
Sophia’s background shows in how she approaches every service call: thorough inspection, minimal intervention, and honest communication with customers about what’s happening and why.
Her Specialties
Sophia has become ATCO’s in-house expert on ant management and German cockroach control — two of the most persistent and complicated pest challenges Bay Area homeowners face. She stays current on the latest research and regularly shares new findings with the ATCO team.
What Customers Say
The feedback from Sophia’s customers is consistently outstanding. “She explained everything — not just what she was doing but why,” one customer wrote in a review. “I actually understand what attracted the ants now. I’ve never had that experience with pest control before.”
Outside of Work
Sophia volunteers with a local wildlife rehabilitation organization on weekends and is an avid trail runner. She lives in the North Bay with her partner and two dogs.
We’re proud to have Sophia on the ATCO team and grateful for everything she brings to our customers every day.
