Four decades ago, ATCO Pest Control opened its doors in the Bay Area with a simple mission: protect homes and families from pests using knowledge, skill, and integrity. Forty years later, that mission hasn’t changed — and neither have the values that have guided every service call, every inspection, and every relationship we’ve built with our customers.
Where It Started
ATCO was founded in 1985 by a team of licensed pest management professionals who believed that pest control could — and should — be done differently. Rather than the “spray and pray” approach common at the time, ATCO committed from the beginning to science-based, integrated pest management that addressed root causes, not just symptoms.
Four Decades of Change
The Bay Area has changed enormously over 40 years — and so has pest control. New species have arrived (like the invasive Argentine ant and Aedes mosquitoes). Old challenges have evolved. The tools available to licensed professionals have improved dramatically. Through all of it, ATCO has stayed at the forefront by investing in training, licensing, and staying current with UC ANR IPM research and best practices.
What Hasn’t Changed
What hasn’t changed is the commitment to our customers and our community. ATCO remains family-owned and operated. The technicians who serve your home are ATCO employees — not contractors — who take pride in the work they do and the relationships they build. Our Diamond Certified status, maintained through independent customer satisfaction surveys, reflects what four decades of doing things right looks like.
